DEVON AND SOMERSET FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE CONSULTATION

Smart Communities Ltd, working together with Devon Communities Together and Living Options Devon, have been commissioned by Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service to engage with specific community groups in Somerset to understand better how the Service can help them feel safe at home and to minimise risk.

We are contacting you as someone who could share the details below with your user groups and encourage individuals to take part in the conversation by attending one of our online focus groups. The findings will help inform the Fire Service’s Community Risk Management Plan which sets out the key challenges and risks facing our communities and how the Fire Service intend to meet and reduce them.

When can I take part:
Monday 13 December, 10.30am – 12pm (those aged 75+ and/or living alone)
Monday 13 December, 4 – 5.30pm (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities)
Monday 10 January, 10.30am – 12pm (those living in rented accommodation)
Monday 17 January, 4 – 5.30pm (flexible, open to all above groups)

What we’ll be talking about:
Workshops will be small, with up to 10 people, and will be grouped around the community categories above. In each workshop there will be a prize draw where two participants will receive a £20 Amazon voucher, as a thank you for participating. We will discuss a series of questions based on the Draft Community Risk Management Plan (available here), and the questions will be similar to those being asked as part of this consultation survey.

What next?

  • If you would like to take part in one of the online Focus Groups, please email info@smartcommunities.online to tell us you’d like to take part and we’ll get back to you with details of how to take part online.
