Mount Hindrance Planning Application Appeal

Hits: 5196

Mixed-use development is proposed on land at Mount Hindrance, Chard. The land is to the north of Chard, just below Cuttifords Door.

The proposals aim to deliver leisure and recreation facilities, commercial and community facilities and new homes. One of the objectives is the relocation of Chard Football Town Football Club to new facilities. There are two separate applications, from different developers, one from McTaggart & Mickel for 350 homes, the other from David Wilson Homes for 110 homes.

If they go ahead, the proposals will have a wide local impact, especially on local facilities and traffic. It should be noted that the McTaggart and Mickel application applies to land entirely within Combe St. Nicholas Parish.
